2 Days Marrakech to fes via Merzouga desert

Welcome to Morocco! Your 2-day Sahara Desert adventure begins here. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech in the early morning and head towards the High Atlas mountains, crossing the famous pass in Morocco, “Tizi-n-Tichka” at 2260 meters high. Enjoy breathtaking views of Berber villages and mountain roads during the 4-hour drive.

Our first stop is Ouarzazate, known as “The Hollywood of Africa” and “The gateway to the desert.” Explore the Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most spectacular ksars. Continuing our journey, we pass through the Rose Valley, with a visit to the Skoura palm grove for lunch, surrounded by countless palms and kasbahs.

As we proceed, we travel through the Dades and Todra valleys, Tinejdad, and Touroug before reaching the spectacular dunes of Merzouga. Experience an hour-long camel ride, weaving along the tops of the dunes, to reach our camp. The Bedouin-style tents are adorned with thick Moroccan carpets to keep the sand at bay. Enjoy a rich tajine dinner by candlelight, and drift off to sleep while gazing at the twinkling stars.

The next morning, rise early to witness the best sunrise of your life from the sand dunes near the camp. After breakfast, ride camels back to Merzouga, where we start our journey towards Marrakech. Along the way, we’ll make stops to enjoy beautiful views and pleasant tea breaks. In the afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech, and we’ll drop you off at your riad, concluding your memorable 2-day Sahara Desert trip. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed your adventure with our team!

Witness the beauty of dawn as the sun begins its daily journey, casting a cool blue morning sky that gradually transforms the desert shadows into a glowing ball of fire. After this magical experience, you’ll return to a local hotel, where a welcoming hot shower and breakfast await you.

Following the morning rejuvenation, our journey continues to Fes via Errachidia, passing through the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved into volcanic rock. We’ll navigate the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to reach Midelt. In Zaida, take a break to enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea before resuming our adventure.

As we proceed, we’ll travel through Azrou, a Berber village nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains, and pause to see the Barbary apes in the famous Cedar forest. Our next destination is Ifran, known as “the French village.” Take a moment for a picture or a refreshing drink before driving to your accommodation in Fes.
